What this tool is for
Prepare a JPG at or below approximately 50KB for strict portals, profile forms, and document-upload systems. The tool automatically searches quality levels and reduces dimensions only when quality alone is not enough.
How to use it
- Choose an image up to 50MB.
- Select Process Image; the 50KB target is applied automatically.
- Wait while GuavaPix tests encoding quality and, if needed, smaller dimensions.
- Confirm the displayed output size is within the form's limit, then download.
What happens to your image
The browser creates JPEG candidates, keeping the largest practical result that does not exceed 50KB. Detailed images may be resized before the final quality search. Nothing is uploaded.
Practical uses
- Meet a 50KB profile-photo limit.
- Prepare a small ID image for an online portal.
- Reduce a scan preview for a legacy application form.
- Create a lightweight thumbnail for slow connections.
How the 50KB target is reached
Image encoders cannot always produce exactly 50,000 or 51,200 bytes. GuavaPix searches discrete quality results and stays under the ceiling. A very detailed source may require noticeably smaller pixel dimensions.
Important limitations
- The output can be smaller than 50KB rather than exact.
- Fine detail and small text may soften at this strict target.
- The result is JPG with no transparency.
- A form can also impose dimension or aspect-ratio rules that this tool does not check.
Frequently asked questions
Will the result always be under 50KB?
The encoder is designed to keep the generated JPG at or below the target when a valid candidate can be created.
Why did the dimensions become smaller?
At 50KB, quality reduction alone may be insufficient, so the tool reduces dimensions before trying quality again.
Does 50KB mean exactly 50,000 bytes?
Different services interpret KB differently. GuavaPix uses 1KB = 1024 bytes and targets 51,200 bytes or less.
Should I start with a cropped image?
Yes when a form also requires a headshot or square image. Crop first, then use the 50KB tool.
